We’re sorry, but your small business entry into the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest has been rejected* for the following reason(s):
Entry contains content that promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message; is obscene or offensive; or endorses any form of hate or hate group.
It seems that Maple Creek Gunsmithing, a small outfit in Nebraska, ran afoul of the mighty Staples (No linky love, a-holes) when they tried to enter a contest for a $50,000 marketing assistance package. Apparently because they deal in evil gunz and stuff.
Fortunately, Staples makes it very simple to contact them on a wide range of topics. I believe this one falls under "Something else...". I've already let them know that this cost them a largish order from my employer and that I personally won't shop there again until it's addressed. And even though I now work in an area of employment well known as a wretched hive of scum and liberals, most of the staff there are pretty much the sort of folks who are not going to take kindly to this sort of behavior. And since the staff does most of the ordering, well, you get the picture and I hope they will too when I start talking this up.
