In Budget Rescission Land, we don't look for excess or extraneous government agencies that we can do without and shut them down. We shut down all the useful stuff first, in the hopes that the sheep will say "Plea-a-a-ase ra-a-a-ise our ta-a-a-axes!" Of course, this is nothing new or innovative, governments have been pulling this trick as long as I can remember.
Guess I'm going to double check the meat stock and hit the grocery store tomorrow, just in case.
Apologies for sending you to the Huffington Post, but they had the story.
