Another one gone

I read that we're losing over 5,000 veterans of World War II per day. And it sucks every damn time.

Rest easy, soldier.

"Atlas Shrugged" was a Warning, not a Manual: If we ignore it hard enough, it will go away

Cutting the Pentagon budget to meet a "nutty formula" produced by Congress to reduce the deficit is not just "goofy," it will decimate the Defense Department, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Tuesday at a Senate hearing to review the 2013 fiscal year budget request.

I must say, this ranks right up there with no Federal Budget in how many years?

Well, I had heard about it

But honestly hadn't paid much attention to the firing of Judge Andrew Napolitano from Fox News.

I should have. Whew! No wonder the guy got fired--talk about questioning authority!

(Via The Mailing List That Shall Not Be Named)

No, the Federal government isn't in danger of immanent collapse as far as we know. But, given the speed at which thing can change in our modern world, how far out is "the foreseeable future"? At one time, that meant 3-5 years. These days, it seems to me to be more like 3-5 months.

State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.

We do indeed live in interesting times.
