So, what does it say

What does it say about you as a gun geek and a home handyman when you use cases of Greek 30-06 ammo as weights for something that you're gluing up?

The Four Rules

Not Col. Cooper's Four Rules, but four rules about tyrants from Joe Huffman.

They may be as worthy of memorization as the Colonel's.

Revenue enhancement at work

Moscow on the Catawba holds another fishing expedition DWI roadblock and manages to have 10% of the arrests be actual DWIs. Color me unimpressed.

Copyright trolls meet their match?

Apparently, the bottom-dwelling scum that is RightHaven has decided that they're now good enough to take on the Drudge Report.

I'll bring the beer; who's bringing the pretzels? And someone get ready to film the YouTube video of the smackdown!

The number one rule of copyright trolling is that you always go after the poor and defenseless. Good grief, didn't they learn anything from the RIAA? At least it couldn't happen to more deserving trolls.

Been saving this one

For a day when I felt that I should blog something but just couldn't find anything I felt like saying.

The People's Cube

Eerily humorous.

Who got hit?

(Via Timebomb 2000)

If you'd care to see who got hit the worst by the foreclosure crisis, The Daily Bail has a graphic for you. I'm betting there are some good buys in South Florida about now.

Once again...

We find ourselves looking back at the day that demonstrated to the 20th century the price for not preparing.

For our parents and grandparents, it was most definitely a shock. The concept that mighty America could be so bloodied on a sunny December morning was beyond belief.

In the early years of the 21st century, we got another such shock, this time on a Sunny September morning.

We found out that nothing had really changed. A determined foe could still strike us in our centers of power.

After a decade of fighting, it seems to me that we find ourselves in no better condition. Indeed, recent events seem to indicate that we have went backward, surrendering our freedoms for some temporary security.

Where do we go from here? Do we, as our fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers did before us, stand tall and fight through to victory? Or do we cower and simper, hoping to be the last ones taken?

Perhaps things are not that dire, yet. Or perhaps they are. From our current position, it's impossible to tell. Our children and grandchildren will provide the future historians who will make those judgments.

I hope they judge us as positively as we have judged our parents and grandparents.

Not worth the paper they're printed on?

(Via Drudge)

It seems the government's new, counterfeit-resistant C-notes may also be printer resistant.

The phrase "too clever by half" comes to mind....

You better watch out, you better not cry...

Because Da Prez is comin' to town!

The local TV media is mostly in pants-wetting mode this morning. "Obama is going to talk about JOBS!! Pant, pant!!!" What, he's going to announce another ill-advised policy decision that will cost a bunch of jobs and drive up prices? Oh boy, I can't wait.

Now here's something for those of you who have never seen one of these dog-and-pony shows: the attendance estimate is 400-500 people, according to the local pants-wetters. Per WFMY TV, 150 or so will be students from Forsyth Tech (a local community college) and the rest will be local luminaries, up to our own beloved Governor Dimples. Gack.

Pay particular attention to the way the media, especially the nationals, either show the crowd or fail to show it. If it is shown, it will be from an angle and focus to maximize the apparent size. If it isn't shown, well, you can figure that out, can't you?

But rest assured, no matter how the size of the crowd is played, this visit isn't for those 150 students, it's for the political attendees. I'm betting that he is going to issue some sort of warning to "our enemies" that, no matter what those pesky voters said last month, he is in charge and they'd better follow his lead.

And they'd better remember that November is coming. Again and again. You want to keep those elected positions and fluff your ego? Pay attention to what we're saying rather than the Bg O's speech.
