"Get lost"

Out of the 40 (planes) that left, 28 didn't make it back,” said Mitchell. “We were attacked by 150 German fighter planes.

Why are you still here? Go read the man's story.

What to say

It's Veterans Day once again, and I've been racking my brains for something to say that I haven't said before. I finally got it.

Thanks.

(I'm settling for something I haven't said enough.)

We must reduce the size of government!

Cut politically sensitive/popular programs? Check.
Increase taxes without actually increasing taxes? Check.

It would seem the RINO/Democrat "deficit reduction panel" is on track.

Obviously, the concept of cutting programs or even full departments (*cough* *energy* *cough* *education* *cough*) never even occurred to them.

"Cameras are going to become a part of life"

So sayeth the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in their quest to redesign various "specialty" fund-raising auto license plates to be more friendly to "digital equipment".

A bit further along, we find out that this digital equipment consists of the world-famous red-light cameras and new toll-collection cameras for a new toll road. (We pay some of the highest gas taxes in the southeastern US and we still need toll roads. Government efficiency at work--but that's another post.)

Who wants to bet that those are just the start? Anyone?

Well, I'm surprised

(Via Say Uncle)

Take this quiz and see if maybe the ADA applies to you, too. (I scored a 15.)

Me...Aspergers? There's a surprise, Sparky.

I don't need a gun in my car

Sure you don't--unless you want to count on your reflexes and luck.

Government-think at the local level

Moscow on the Catawba (also known as Charlotte, NC) wants light rail/mass transit/other expensive but under-utilized feel-good modes of transportation. However, "the current half-cent sales tax is 'unable to sustain' the current transit plan."

Now, if this were you or I, we would figure that we needed to trim our budget. Not the government, oh no! They go for a tax hike, that, if I'm remembering their current sales tax rate correctly, works out to 6%.

I wonder if I told my employer that I'm unable to sustain my current lifestyle if they would give me a 6% pay raise?

You had to know this would show up sooner or later

Hitler gets the election results.

Another example of "Not getting the message"

Wisconsin Republican Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner says he wants Republicans to rebrand but keep the global warming committee devised by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and maligned by many conservatives.

RINOs, you'd better wake up. We're keeping a list for the next election, and Obama isn't the only name on it.

Start chopping the size of the government down now. Feel free to start with this panel. "Politics as usual" is not going to work for you this time. As the anti-gunners always liked to say, "Well it isn't really what we want, but it's a good first step." And you'd better take that first step.

Oh look! The Stupid Party is still in business!

Republicans are making some big promises to try to lure West Virginia Senator-elect Joe Manchin to cross the aisle.

Aside from his pick of committee assignments (likely the Energy and Natural Resources Committee), Manchin might get support for one of his pet projects - a plant to convert coal to diesel fuel that has stalled under Democratic leadership in Washington.

Obviously, the Head Stupids did not get the message from last week's election. At least we know who is on the next "Unemployed Politicians" list.

Yet another inconvenient truth

The presidential commission investigating the massive Gulf oil spill has found no instance where a decision deliberately sacrificed safety to cut costs.

Fred H. Bartlit, Jr., the panel's chief counsel, in a presentation Monday said the probe did not uncover any case where an individual made a conscious choice to "favor dollars over safety."

That statement conflicts with investigations by Democrats in Congress who have accused BP of cutting corners when it made several critical well design decisions. Those decisions have also been questioned by other major oil companies.

Gee, Democrats...lying. I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you.

The Democrats are evacuating DC...

This has been on my to-do list for almost a week

To watch. I wish I had gotten to it sooner, so I could have made this post sooner.

Some people don't like Glenn Beck. Some do, and some are pretty much neutral on him. No matter what you think about the guy, I suggest you watch this 40 minutes of video. Take the information and do your own research. I don't have to--I've been at this for a long while. But what it took me years to research and learn about, you'll get (admittedly in a Cliff Notes version) in 3 parts over 40 minutes.

Like I said, do your own homework. But prepared to be frightened.
