A beautiful sentiment

(Via the Patriot Post)

I love the woman, apparently a member of the Perpetually Offended Class, who claims she would not feel safe in his care. Lady, while it's still a marginally free country, go find another doctor. No one is going to make you go to any doctor you don't trust.

Not for a few more years, anyway.

Late to the party

(Via the Drudge Report)

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke warned Wednesday that Americans may have to accept higher taxes or changes in cherished entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security if the nation is to avoid staggering budget deficits that threaten to choke off economic growth.

Nice of "Helecopter Ben" to finally show up. Too bad that all the champagne and caviar is gone. So is the beer and pretzels. No, the carbonated beverages and party mix is gone as well.

Can we interest you in some bread and water as we turn out the lights and go to bed?

For decades, the United States (and the rest of the world as well) has lived far beyond its means. The bill for that extravagant lifestyle is now due. The sad thing is that the people who run it up aren't going to be the ones paying for it, by and large. It's going to be their grandchildren who will foot the real bill for this party, with decades of reduced lifestyles and opportunities.

Let's remember to take out the party trash in November--vote 'em all out. Let's get back to a true market economy so we can work this out as quickly as possible.

Obviously, someone isn't getting the message

Or perhaps they are. Jim Shepherd of The Shooting Wire points out that some military bases are still demilling spent brass rather than reselling it on the open market (per years of common practice) and that the company who seems to be at the center of this (follow the money, kids), ATK, is using scare tactics to promote the idea.

As he points out, this is in direct disregard for Congressional directives saying, in essence, "Stop that!"

One must wonder which side the base commanders think their bread is buttered on--and who they think their friends really are, not to mention where their duty lies. It's disturbing to consider that in depth, given the current CinC.

17 minutes and 12 seconds

And all content free, no doubt.

President Obozo apparently thinks that North Carolinians bullshit easily. Not only do we not, but apparently neither does the Washington Post, for a wonder. I guess the shine really is wearing off the Hope-N-Change thing.
