The solution: give the government more power

We've been having some drought problems here in North Carolina for some years. Our esteemed governor's solution? Why, give the state more power, of course. Given how well the State of NC manages roads, mental health and so on, I really can't get interested in this proposal.

I would say the end of Easley's term can't get here fast enough, but given his probable successor, I don't have much hope that things will get better.

And it couldn't happen to a nicer gun-grabbing statist tool

Spitzer to Resign Following Reports of 'Involvement' With Prostitution Ring

Yes, I know it's not nice to gloat. But it feels so good.

I'm putting this out there for the crowd that contends on some other blogs that the Southern States had no right to secede from the Union during the War Between the States. It seems to me to refute, once and for all, the position against legal secession. If it was a voluntary act to join, then a State should be equally able to leave, either voluntarily or by expulsion by the remainder of the several States.

Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act. In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution.

The M1 Abrams and AC-DC-an excellent combination.

How about a little gun porn?

Yeah, I'm getting to be a sorry gun blogger, that's for sure. However, I'd like to make up for that in a small way, by introducing you to Leroy:

Leroy is a c. 1946 Llama 1911 in .22 LR. Leroy was named by his former owner, because, as he said, Leroy is a pimp gun.

Yes, I am the proud owner of a pimp gun. Please note the chrome everything and the mother-of-pearl grips, along with the small caliber. To go along with the small caliber is Leroy's small stature--roughly of mouse-gun size. Quite pimp-y, I think.

However, Leroy has a purpose in his life, besides protecting my stable. Leroy has all the appropriate 1911 controls in all the appropriate places, meaning that shooting Leroy can be a cost-effective substitute for shooting a full-size 1911 and that getting more expensive every day .45 ACP ammo.

Now, to complete the package, I need to get a pimpmobile to get to the range. What do you think of this one:

And the man himself:
