Stock market hijinks got you a little antsy? Starting to wish that you had more food stored, but don't have the money for MREs or freeze-dry? You don't have to spend a fortune to eat well if the feces impacts the air handler. Courtesy of Frugal Squirrel's, the lovely Wendy Mae will teach you how to store many staple food in 5 gallon buckets.

Pack away some today, and eat well tomorrow.

As stock markets around the world are doing the belly flop...

We could all use a laugh.

You have to wonder about those newspaper people, I'm tellin' ya.

The best thing you will watch today

Know your enemies, NC edition

Courtesy of the Raleigh News and Observer, we have this handy guide to two of the enemies of liberty in NC:
  • Rachel Smith, who is aministry leader at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh
  • Abby Spangler, who is a member of the CD Spangler family (yes, the CD Spangler who is owner ot the CD Spangler Construction Co. in Charlotte, and who is also past President of the UNC System)
These people are organizing anti-gun protests under the guise of the Virginia Tech murders and with the aid of the Brady Bunch. These people would strip you of your God-given rights to make themselves feel better.

Sanctimonious hypocrites.

Dude, your prejudice is showing

(Via the Drudge Report)

...the solemnity of the moment was shattered by Bill Plante of CBS, who bellowed to Bush: "If he's so smart, how come you lost Congress?"

No report on any retort, but I almost hope it was an "Oh yeah?!"

The cost of living is going up again

(From Of Arms and the Law via Say Uncle)

The price of ammo is probably going up again. Stock up now (if you haven't already) and consider reloading more.

(Parenthetical note: Have you noticed how little brass is being left on ranges these days? Don't suppose there's a connection, do you?)

Useful gun site

Tired of trying to track down the best available deal on ammo or a new gun? Try Gun Deals. A very interesting site. Amazing how expensive those Yugo SKS rifles have gotten lately. Son't suppose people are stocking up, now do you?

Uh, on second thought

The US dollar plays an important role in the global monetary system and dollar assets are an important part of China's foreign exchange reserve, the central bank said yesterday.

I noted last week's comments by Chinese economic eggheads Xia Bin and He Fan, but didn't have time to comment on them. But I did wonder if they had considered the repercussions if their country did cause a dollar crash. Can't you see the protests when all of those Chinese factory workers suddenly find themselves jobless when Americans decided that keeping their homes took precedence over buying their cheap poisonous crap?

Tienanmen would look very good by comparison, at least from the Chinese leadership's point of view.

Further proof of the Left's lunacy

Say it out loud. Do it. Fred. Fred. In the South, Fray-ud.

It has the tonal quality of something being dropped on the floor, something heavy and damp-ish.

Waterlogged paper towel.

Apparently, the Washington Post is hiring 8 year olds off the local playgrounds to write their opinion pieces now. I guess like most of the old media, they have to economize where they can, since people aren't buying the twaddle they peddle any longer. But if this is the quality of debate we can expect from the Democraps and their media supporters this election go-round, it's going to be a lo-o-o-ong time until November 2008.
