John Gilmore fights for your privacy

(Via WorldNet Daily)

Finally we have a principled man who is willing to take on our government and has the money to do it. John Gilmore, employee #5 at Sun Micro, breaker of the DES encryption scheme, one of the prime funders of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, is taking on the US government and some of the most hysterical post 9/11 laws and rules.

Some will look at him and say that he's another hold-over from the 60s/70s who's just out to cause trouble. Maybe. But it's trouble that needs to be caused. In the name of security, we're slowly but surely being stripped of our rights. And as Ben Franklin said, "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."
