You might want to be careful when renovating your house

On a lighter note...

Big money wins, as usual

(This via WorldNet Daily.)

I'm all in favor of the private accumulation of wealth, but I hate how it usually gets used. Perhaps the shade of the old chief needs to ride once more...

It might be a minor victory for the Constitution, but at this point I'll happily take it. According to Newsday, BATF is no longer releasing firearms source information and is purging information obtaining in buyer background checks in 24 hours, rather than the previous 90 days. Read the whole article here.

Pedictably, the anti-gun forces have began braying, the Brady Center, may they be caught unarmed in a back alley by those who mean to do them harm, in the lead. Dear anti-gun assholes: What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you get? If you don't want a gun, that's fine by me, but I will not grant you the power to tell me I can't have one, or that I must submit to some hidden attempt to track it.

Parting thought

I'll leave you for tonight with this:

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

Winston Churchill

I feel much safer now...

I picked up on this from Kim du Toit.

Now, boys, I'm here to tell you...if you're upset, good. You ought to be. Anyone who loves this country and what it stands for (not what the politicians, courts, political parties, yapping media tripehounds or various "advocacy groups" says it stands for, but what the Founders said it stands for) should be upset. But if you're surprised, then you haven't been paying attention for oh, the last 40 years or so.

Publicize this sort of activity when you find out about it. Start your own blog, do a website, email it to a select group of friends, call your mom or whatever, but spread the word. The way these misbegotten so-and-sos get away with this is because the tame media won't spread the word. "Conservative" media will, but their reach is too short as a rule.

We must take our country back, and we have to start right now. We've already waited too long--wait much longer and there will be no chance of success. So get off your butt and pledge 15 minutes a day to getting the word out.

Hari-Kerry?

The NY Post has this on John Kerry.

I've always said that I doubted the sincerity of someone who is worth (or in this case, who's wife is worth) a fortune but says he's for the "little guy". And when he's an elected official, I guess you really better watch out.

We have this little gem from ABC News. Yes, ImClone systems has won FDA approval for Erbitux. I wonder if Martha Stewart wishes she had held onto her stock?

Silence the braying jackasses?

The Democrat pretenders, er, contenders for the Presidency, aided and abetted by their sniveling (yet tame) tripe-hounds in the media, have be endlessly regaling us with George Bush's supposed military shortcomings. Now we have this as reported by Fox News and other places. Please note the link to a .pdf of the supporting docs on the page.

It seems to me that the guy did his bit. It may not have been combat, but most who enlist never see combat (I didn't) so I can't count that against the man.

(Of course, one must wonder just exactly how much effort went into finally digging this stuff out of the records.)

So do you suppose that any of the pretenders, er, contenders (Bad boy! Down!) will STFU? I already know better than to expect an apology or anything resembling it.

Damn the templates, full speed ahead!

OK, so Farrragut was on the wrong side in the War of Northern Aggression. Bravery is bravery.

I'm still fighting this template, but at least all the links are back in. I didn't set out to learn CSS, but it looks like I'll have to do it in self-defense if I want to get this thing to look something like I want. Grrr.

So, even if it doesn't exactly suit me, we're driving on. Time for content.

Arugh!

I was trying to fix a couple of things in the template and screwed the pooch. I'll get it back together eventually. I've gotten the colors back, but it's late and I have to work tomorrow. Links later.

God help all who enter here

Another person with something to say takes the plunge into the blogging waters. Be afraid--be very afraid.

I'm doing this on the spur of the moment, having absolutely no idea what will show up here. You might get quotations, pointers to interesting web sites, or rants. Hopefully, it'll be a fun ride.

And in that vein...
