Arrested? They ought to get a medal and a chance to finish the job!

You catch some pervert in a tree, pants around his ankles, watching your 5-year-old daughter who's asleep in her bed. You and some loyal friends drag the perv out of the tree and beat the living crap out of him. (I could do without the sexual assault with the tree branch, but in the heat of the moment, I can see how you might get carried away.)

Meanwhile, police said that citizens should not take matters into their own hands .

"To take matters into their own hands like they did was just way, way beyond reason," North Royalton Detective Jay Drake said.

Now of course, there are several court cases that state the cops have no duty to protect you. (Look em up yourself, it's late and I'm tired. They're out there.) But you can't take matters into your own hands, oh no, Joe Citizen!

Out in the West, ranchers have a saying: Shoot, shovel and shut up. They have their reason...
